Presidential Initiative on Law and Values in
Health, Environment & the Life Sciences


MJLST is grateful for significant support received through the Presidential Initiative on Law and Values. In October 2003, University of Minnesota President Robert Bruininks named the Consortium on Law and Values one of eight new Interdisciplinary Initiatives. Through the larger Presidential Initiative process, the Consortium was fortunate to receive funding to initiate new projects designed to elevate this University's work on the societal implications of the life sciences to the next level of excellence. Included among these new projects was the creation of a unique journal of international stature to publish articles and student work on the societal implications of the life sciences: the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology.
